If you look at all of the really successful email marketers, they have their own products. It’s a very satisfying thing, really. You create something that has real value – something that helps people. Then you sell it at a price that leaves people delighted with their purchase. What could be better? It’s the true definition of win-win.
The customer gets a great product. What do you get? You get the sale, of course. But you get something much more valuable — you get the trust of a happy customer. You can work to grow that trust and provide more to that customer by using email lists to stay in touch with them. You can sell them other products that they need (and that you also value), increasing the investement in your relationship. In the end, everybody wins (especially the customer).
You Have To Start Somewhere
The thing is, if you look at these guru email marketers, they all have tens (or hundreds) of thousands of people on their lists and dozens of huge products. How in the world can you compete? Simple answer: don’t compete. Start small and build from there.
See, I believe that everyone has at least one good eBook in them. Probably more. The thing is, people are reluctant to start. Either they don’t know how to start or they are afraid to fail. Either way, they forget that the longest journey begins with the smallest step.
