Episode 043 Transcript
I just got back from Aguascalientes, Mexico where I was away on business. It was a groovy time, I had the most amazing food there. Particularly, some grilled octopus. (pictured below at right)
This is episode 43, I hope you’re having a fantastic time and a fantastic week. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been on the mic, I’ve been spending a lot of time doing some planning for 2013.
That planning includes lots of podcasting. If that appeals to you, you’ll be happy because I have a lot of podcasting planned. And I’m ready to rock and roll on the blog, I have a really good vision for what I want the blog to be and we’re going to get into that a little bit in this episode because I’d love your input on that. I want to tell you what my plans are and see what you think
The other thing I have planned for you today is I had an email from a listener who wanted to discuss his website. Normally I’m not able to take the time to answer these things, but the email was really written and the guy was really nice and I was really interested in talking to him about it. He had done a lot of hard work and I felt like he just needed a little bit of help. So I did something that I don’t normally do, I called him up and talked to him for about 45 minutes about what I thought he should do with his website.
Now, I’m not going to reveal to you his website, but there were some general principles that we discussed. He’s relatively new to internet marketing and there were some things that I saw on his website that I think it’s important to tell you about. Again, we won’t talk about his website specifically. His name is Chase, by the way. Shout out to Chase, thanks for the email, I really enjoyed our phone call.
The topics that we discussed were important to understand for internet marketing, so I got in my car the next morning after having talked to him the night before and I recorded 20 minutes of my recollection of the conversation, making it generic so as not to reveal his niche or his website. I have that recording here for you today and I think you’re going to enjoy it if you can fight through it. I was experimenting with a Bluetooth hands-free solution in the car and it just wasn’t great.
This is my in-car-cellphone-audio that’s mounted in the car and routed by Bluetooth into my iPhone, into a recorder for the iPhone. It’s not great and I apologize. I’m going to try to clean it up with Adobe Audition, but it’s still not going to be great, so my apologies to you. It is what it is.
