Is this a common thing that you see with entrepreneurs? And if so, what do you tell people when they come to you and they’re just afraid to take action?

We all – even the successful ones – have certain fears in doing anything that is new. Anything that is new is uncomfortable. It takes us outside of our comfort zone and we all have this desire to be comfortable. We are tempted to stay with what we have that we know will work.

We are consistently confronted with fear, that is normal and that is a good thing. It’s a natural response and it indicates that you need to take precautions. But at some point, you must realize that fear has done its work and that you have to take calculated risks. It’s time to place fear aside and move to a new direction. Leverage on that fear, turn it into excitement to energize you.  

What other kinds of mindset hack do I need to really get going now that I’ve decided I’m going to overcome my fear and use it to propel my journey?

A solid foundation for all mindset hacks is what we call our belief system. What do you believe in?  Belief is a thought that you feel certain is true, it can be a concept that you have been conditioned over time, a thought that was introduced to you at an impressionable time in your life by somebody.

What beliefs do you have that is making you afraid? Is it the fear that you are not worthy of success, the belief that you are not qualified, or that, if you fail financially you can’t get people to hire you?

So, Step 1 is recognizing fear. Step 2 is using that fear and rechannelling it to energize you into taking action, and one of the ways that you can help do is recognizing that you have a belief system. You need to identify those beliefs, own them, analyze them, and in some case, replace those beliefs.
