Man Oh Man! Have you seen this demo of the MTHEL – Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser? This thing is really amazing. I am not sure about the political implications of a Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser, but from a technology standpoint, it is really neat.

Apparently, this thing is part of a U.S.-Israel cooperation. I guess Israel really does need a way to deal with the threat from Hezbollah-guerillas shooting from the North. The MTHEL is still under development and is the follow-on to the Nautilis (The Nautilis killed a rocket in February 1996 at a test site in New Mexico – the first time a laser has ever destroyed a ballistic missile).Very cool.
I am officially a fan of the Mobile Tactical High Energy Laser.
