Are you making amazing progress in your online business during this global pandemic or not getting as much done as you thought you would? In this episode, we discuss the realities of working at home during COVID-19.
In the news, we talk about recent changes to Amazon Affiliate commission structure and discuss actions you might take to try and offset an inset in affiliate income.
Show Notes
For some, our best-laid plans of being productive, holding ourselves accountable, getting on track and making progress during this pandemic did not go as we have hoped for. It’s far different than we expected as it turns out that it wasn’t that simple.
Many of us would agree that one of the impacts that COVID 19 has contributed is its psychological effect on us. We’ve seen news that created fear and some felt the impact of losing the drive to get things done. We’re in a different psychological environment than we’re normally in, and that can have many effects but there are lots of things you can do too, to combat this.
One of the challenges that entrepreneurs are about to face is, starting April 21st, Amazon affiliates (this includes publishers and influencers) are going to see lower commissions from their affiliate sales. This extends to different product categories.
If you were making $500 a month from Amazon in March, chances are by May, you are looking at about $60 in some cases, depending on how heavy you are in these categories.
If you think that your products will be affected, you have the choice of looking for a second affiliate program to run either alongside Amazon as a test or to run instead of Amazon.
